Live
from Your Soul
“Let my
soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that
I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.”
Paramahansa
Yogananda
It's time to start living
from the soul. One simple way to do that is to practice
kindness—toward everyone you meet. Even if all you can share
is a smile, that will do. We can begin to dampen the hostility of
this time, and bring down the level of violence by not responding in
kind. So what if we have different views and different ways of being
in the world? So what if we are different colors and have different
religions and beliefs? There is one thing we have in common: we are
all human beings. And among human beings, there is no better and
worse. No one, regardless of color or creed, regardless of wealth or
poverty, degree of education or sophistication, is inherently better
or more worthy than anyone else. We are all the same and we are in
this boat together.
So today, if someone
insults you, wish them a happy day. If they snub you or
attack your way of being in the world, feel you skin growing thicker,
and wish them well. Smile. It's disarming. Energetically, it damps
down the inherent violence that is part and parcel of the behavior
you are seeing. When you jump in with equal hostility, the energy of
violence increases in and around you—and it's contagious. The more
of us who can react differently, react with kindness, the less of
that aggressive energy will be zooming around infecting everyone it
touches.
Today, live from your
beautiful, generous and kind soul. You can make the world a better
place with just this simple action.
In the Spirit,
Jane
