Blood Moon
"All are but parts of one stupendous whole, whose body nature is, and God the soul."
Alexander Pope
There's a blood moon this morning; shining through the winter trees, with a pink halo. It is absolutely breathtaking.
The blood moon has held special significance for me for this past year, so much so that I created a wall-hanging to commemorate it. Oh, I know--spiritually, it's a pagan symbol--but then, I'm a pagan at heart, as most of us are. If we're not then we should be, because the earth on which we depend needs our care and adoration now more than ever.
The light of this blood moon, which is also a blue moon, since it's the second full moon this month, is as bright as can be, even though it's shining through a cloud cover here in Alabama. My prayer: May her halo expand to fill us all with the light of connection, relationship, and the inclusiveness of the feminine function, which she represents. May she help us to understand that all living things and all beings are of equal value, and all are part of one stupendous whole.
In the Spirit,
Jane
