Living
Love
“You
will feel powerful only when you learn to use the power of love...Our
heart creates everything from nothing. That is the magical power of
love...Once you choose the power of love, nothing is impossible.”

Lately,
because I am reading A Return to Love, by Marianne Williamson,
the subject of being loving is in my face at all times. I truly
believe love is the only solution to the anger, hatred and fear that
has our world in its grasp, and yet it is so terribly difficult to
practice. Our world culture does not support love. That culture is,
in fact, a vehicle for unrest, competition, and rivalry. Even our
religions, which should be the solution to hatred, have lost their
moral ground. Every time I sit down to write this blog, the subject
that pounds in my head is the importance of love. This is what I must
write about—over and over.
Here
is what seems true to me: If our religions advocate hatred and
violence toward anyone, they are not true revelations of that which
we call God. If we want to shut our doors, shut our borders, shut our
hearts, we are not living in God's love. We cannot circle the wagons
and shut out those who are in need, and consider ourselves loving.
It was Robert Browning who said, “Without Love, our earth is a
tomb.” We must listen, we must practice.
We
must gather our strength, our courage, and practice love to the best
of our ability. We will not do it perfectly, we may take two steps
forward and three back, but we must try. Fear is the enemy of love.
If we practice fear, we will never know love's transforming power. Together, we can make a difference.
Affirmation:
“Today, I will put aside fear, and practice love.”
In
the Spirit,
Jane
