Serendipity
“What
people call serendipity sometimes is just having your eyes open.”
Jose
Manuel Barroso
Serendipity
is defined as “an occurrence and development of events by chance in
a happy or beneficial way.” In other words, a happy accident. I
believe there's more to it than that. I think intention plays an
important role. When we hold a clear intention, the stars of
serendipity align.
Back
in the day, when I studied folks like Barbara Brennan, Caroline Myss,
Joan Borysenko, Deepak Chopra and the other body-mind pioneers, I
learned such notions as, “energy follows intention,” and “when
you believe it, you will see it.” And I have to say, those
teachings have stuck with me. When we are clear in our own minds
about what we want, what we are looking for, not only do we set the
stage for serendipity, but we draw it to us energetically.
Being
intentional directs our own behavior as well—we begin actively to
seek, to put out feelers, to research, and to ponder a great deal
about exactly how something might come to be. We develop a picture of
it, we can see it, if only in our mind's eye. All these steps are
energetic pathways; they pave the way for an idea to manifest in the
real world.
If
there is something you truly want, hold it closely in your heart and
mind. Think about it, form an image, give it life. And then, keep
your eyes open for the universe to line up behind you. Serendipity
begins with you.
In
the Spirit,
Jane
