Total
Transformation
“What
is in one, is in the whole.”
Caroline
Myss
In her
most recent video address Caroline Myss speaks about the transformational event
we are experiencing in real time. She describes it as “an activation of the
collective evolution of humanity.” On every level, everywhere on the globe,
we have been brought to a standstill, not by war, but by a virus over which we
have no control. And in the middle of this pandemic, we are going through
change on almost every level—social, political, economic, and spiritual.
I went
to pick up a pizza last night—curbside, and with mask and gloves. That
restaurant had strict social distancing practices in place, but I looked across
the patio to the barbeque restaurant next door, and saw people packed in,
shoulder to shoulder, no masks, and everyone talking at top volume. The county where
I live, Jefferson, just put a “mandatory mask in public” ordinance in place
yesterday, yet great swaths of people are ignoring it. I can only assume that
the defense mechanism of denial is in play. Alabama has recorded more than
3,000 new cases of Covid-19 in just the last two days. The CDC is sending a
contingent of specialists here to help us get control of the spread. Much of the
increase can be attributed to mass gatherings like what I saw at the restaurant
last night.
When we
see this sort of mind-blindness occurring, we should understand that we humans
are creating the conditions for massive calamities; and we simply don’t care.
We refuse to take personal responsibility for even the simplest inconvenience to
us—that we wear a mask in public—because our barbeque is more important. How
amazing is that?
This upheaval
in human culture—worldwide—is happening no matter what. People will die from
it, as they already have, just as they do in war. Denying that it’s happening,
pretending that it doesn’t affect us, labeling it a “government hoax,” acting
as though it is just the media and the left-wing nut-cases overblowing the
truth, will not make it go away. The fact is that everything we know is
changing, and that we too are changing. This rapid evolution will either bring
out the worst in us, or the very best. We can make it worse, or we can use it
for finding new and better opportunities to grow and innovate.
Every
mystical tradition in all religions tell us that what happens to one happens to
all. There are no levels of separation on planet Earth, and none in the whole
of creation. As Caroling Myss says in her video, “We’re waiting for this to
end, but there is no end. There is only this journey.” And this journey is all
about total transformation. Buckle up. It’s going to be a rough and exciting
ride.
In
the Spirit,
Jane
