An Irish Blessing for Christmas

Deep Peace To You

...Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you,
who, swift as the wave and pervasive as the air,
quiet as the earth and shining like a star,
breathes into us His Peace and His Spirit.
Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.”
Mary Rogers (adapted from the Gaelic blessing, Earth Prayers, p.172)

On this Christmas morning, I wish for you true, and deep, and lasting peace for your body, mind and spirit. In the name of the Prince of Peace, may we hold each other gently, with brotherly/sisterly love for one another and for this good earth. Let us pledge in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, whose birthday we celebrate, to approach one another in peace for the coming year. May each of us do our part to nurture peace in all our relationships and in our work in the world. Peace in our hearts, peace in our mouths, peace in our minds. May we be Peace.

                                                           In the Spirit,
                                                              Jane
