The Coniuctio:

Marriage of Equals

“Dr. Jung went on to speak of the strength of womanhood, how it is stronger than any [imitation of the] male adaptation, and how a woman who is a woman from the crown of her head to the tip of her toe can afford to be masculine, just as a man who is sure of his masculinity can afford to be tender and patient like a woman.”
Ester Harding (Conversations with Jung, p.8)

There is almost nothing in the world stronger than a woman who knows herself, stands in her own truth, and sees through eyes of compassion. That woman can do what she needs to do, take care of whatever needs attention, and provide real world solutions to real world problems. She can take the lead and guide rather than coerce, she can apply force without undercutting others, and she knows when to step back, delegate, and release the reins.

There is almost nothing in the world stronger than a man who knows himself, who stands in his own truth, and sees the world through the eyes of compassionate reason. He is clear-headed and rational. He brings focus and the ability to lead by action and by inspiration. He has no need to grandstand or be dictatorial. He does not want, nor does he require, a large gun to prove his masculine prowess or his sexual superiority. He is secure in himself and does not need approval from others. He can lead by following. He’s able to be both loving and strong.

When these two energies unite, when they are equally valued, we will rise above the human maelstrom we find ourselves immersed in now and achieve justice and peace. We seem further from this balance that ever but sometimes, it takes total darkness to reveal the light. Dr. Jung said, “It is the prerogative of our times that woman has a psychology [of her own], that there is another viewpoint outside the masculine.” Finding the balance and allowing that other viewpoint to access its power is key to our survival. My prayer is that we will find it sooner rather than later.

                                        In the Spirit,

                                        Jane
