It's A New Day

Co-Creators

“Creation is ongoing. The world begins anew each day. This is the miracle that makes not a sound, but which changes everything, if we can be quiet enough to feel it happen. When we can participate in this, we begin anew each day.”

Mark Nepo (The Book of Awakening, p.422; Conari Press, 2000)

Today, one day after Christmas, is the moment when everything is transformed because the Light has been born into the world. We have seen the star, we have heard the angels sing, and we have once again brought gifts to celebrate the birth. In one week, a new year begins. The question is, will 2021 be a year transformed by grace?

As Mark Nepo says, creation is ongoing. And we are equal participants. We decide whether 2021 will be marked by pandemic sickness and death, or whether we will do the things required to put it to rest. This is something that cannot be bestowed upon us from on high, or anywhere else. It is up to us as co-creators.

There is a song by Israel Houghton titled, “It’s A New Season, It’s A New Day,” that may have special resonance right now. The chorus goes like this:

“It’s a new season, it’s a new day/ A fresh anointing is flowing my way/ It’s a season of power and prosperity/ It’s a new season coming to me.”

Even though the dark winter of Covid-19 is still upon us, we can see the light grow brighter if we comply with the guidelines. Don’t you think it is time to step up and take responsibility for our part in creation? We can bring about a season of renewal if we want. The vaccine offers the hope the star, and the angels, and the child promised, but we must be the ones to roll up our sleeves and allow in the light of a new day.

                                                  In the Spirit,

                                                  Jane
