Good, good, good...

Good Vibrations

The work of this continual transformation of the beloved visible and comprehensible world into the invisible vibration and stimulation of our nature introduces new frequencies of vibration into the universal spheres of vibration. Since the various substances in the universe are only different rates of vibration.”
Rainer Maria Rilke

This may sound confusing, but it is in fact both ancient wisdom and current science. Given that everything in the known universe is composed of atomic particles, then, by definition, everything is energetic in nature. Somewhere along the way (around the 15th century), we lost this understanding and replaced it with a mechanical theory, because we had to make the universe accessible to our senses in order to explore it, and energy is not visible. Atoms were first suggested around the 4th century BCE, but atomic theory was not established until 1803, when John Dalton put the pieces of the puzzle together. His findings stated that all substances consist of atoms; those atoms are indestructible and unchangeable; the various elements are characterized by the weight of their atoms, and through chemical reactions atoms combine to form new substances.

Like everything else, we are atomic in nature. We are composed of billions of atoms and we vibrate at a particular rate. Trees, which have a denser composition vibrate at a slower rate, and rocks, more compact still, have an even slower vibration. If you sit with yourself in silence and concentrate within, you will feel the energy of your body and realize that it extends for some distance beyond your flesh and bones. We reach out to people and to all of nature with our energy—it is not confined by our physical form, which is why we speak of sending “good vibes” to others when they need support. It's not just a cliché; we truly do send vibes to them. And that is because we are part of that great web that I (and many others) have written about before. One huge network of energy connects all things; we are not, have never been, and will never be separate. Our “thoughts and prayers” are energy. We send them out through our network and there is neither lapse, nor blockage, nor stagnation of that energy through time and space. Time is not linear in the universe; our energy can reach backward and forward. The energy of our ancestors impacts us and stays with us forever. We can choose to send out energy that blesses the world, or we can send out energy that curses the world. It's our choice, because it's our energy. I hope you send out and receive “good vibes” today. Here are some from me.
