Tasting
Life
“Your
problem is how are you going to spend this one odd and precious life
you have been issued. Whether you're going to spend it trying to look
good and create the illusion that you have power over people and
circumstances, or whether you are going to taste it, enjoy it, and
find out the truth about who you are.”
Anne Lamott
What
more is there to say? Today I'm traveling to see my sweet
great-niece, and of course, her mother and daddy. She will be one
year old next month while I'm up in North Carolina kicking up my
heels at my 50th High School reunion. Can't wait to see
her and how she's growing—it happens so fast these days you can't
afford to blink or you'll miss something.
I'm
looking forward to watching this baby girl grow up. Maybe there will
someday be a few grandchildren she can lord it over, being the oldest, and a girl. I remember my own big sister, her grandmother, and how
she bossed me from daylight 'til dark. She's not here to see her
granddaughter, so I am her happy stand in.
Traveling
mercies today. I'll be off enjoying my 'one odd and precious life'
and hope you will give yours a taste, too. See you tomorrow.
In
the Spirit,
Jane
