Life’s Lessons
“Each of us, as the hero of our own life, faces different earthly and spiritual challenges from which we learn lessons that allow us to evolve different, increasingly higher qualities of power. All problems, all stresses present an opportunity for spiritual learning in which you can gain insight into the use, misuse, or misdirection of your personal power.”
Caroline Myss (Invisible Acts of Power)
What if you knew that everything that happens in your life is a gift given to help you clarify and gain insight into your life’s meaning? What if you knew without a doubt that everyone who has come into your life, from your parents to that person you met on the street today, offers an opportunity to grow and expand your connection with soul? Every event, every person, every circumstance that comes your way—what if they came for a reason and that reason is to teach you something that your soul needs to know? Would you view your life differently? Would you change anything?
Some struggles seem to cycle around and come back attached to a new face. For instance, one who grew up in an alcoholic family may marry an alcoholic, and later encounter addiction in a child. The temptation, for me at least, is to cry out in frustration. “Why is this problem dogging me? How many times will I have to deal with it?” The answer is, of course, as many times as it takes to learn the lessons. Not their lessons, but my own. Mine are lessons about being co-dependent, in denial, and addicted to control. These are hard lessons. They require more than one learning opportunity. With each cycle, I peel away another layer of insight into my own nature.
Our journey through this lifetime is also a journey into self; a diving deep into our own core which, like the core of earth itself, may contain some harsh conditions. Refusing to take the plunge is not an option since life will always find you and offer you more opportunities to learn. Take heart. Even in your solo journey, there is help and support from other kindred spirits. Reach out your hand.
In the spirit,
Jane
